Dawson County Raceway gears up for opening night this Sunday!
‘Where only the best go three abreast,’ will be an action-packed racing dream for race enthusiasts and fans, as the Dawson County Raceway in Lexington is opening the door to their 2013 campaign on the 3/8 mile sweeping oval this coming Sunday evening. If Mother Nature cooperates, Dawson County Raceway has twelve nights of racing action scheduled. The gates will open every Sunday race night at 5 p.m. with the green flag set to drop promptly at 6:30 p.m. All races are scheduled for Sundays, with the addition of a ‘Racers Memorial Day Races’ evening on May 27th. The Memorial Day event will be a special event for all classes with added purses to help honor specific former racers and race fans.
 The fast 3/8 mile oval will feature the Modifieds, Northern Sport Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts each regular scheduled race night; all sanctioned by the International Motor Contest Association (IMCA).
 The United Rebel Sprint Series (URSS), the Super Late Models, Grand National Late Models and Outlaw Vintage Lites (OVL) will make appearances at the track on select nights also. The URSS sprint cars will get the season at DCR started off fast, with their first appearance coming on opening night this Sunday, May 5th. The evening of June 2nd, will be one of the biggest nights of late model racing in a long while at Dawson County Raceway, with the Super Late Model Racing (SLMR) series from Eastern Nebraska clashing with the Championship Dirt Motorsports Super Late Models that will come from as far as Colorado, Wyoming and Arizona to tame the Dawson County Raceway oval. The URSS sprint cars will return for their second evening of racing on July 14th. In August, there will be two evenings of special events at DCR, The Outlaw Vintage Lites will fly around the Lexington oval on August 4th and the Grand National Late Models will visit DCR on August 11th.
 Grandstand admission prices for the 2013 season will be $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12 on regular nights of racing. Admission to the URSS and Grand National Late Model races will be $15 for adults, $8 for kids ages 6-12. On the evening of the Super Late Model showcase, it will be $20 for adults, $10 for kids ages 6-12. Every race night, kids age 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $25 each race night.
